Amaro Averna is an Italian liqueur in the Amaro category produced in Caltanissetta, Sicily. It is named after its inventor, Salvatore Averna, and walks the fine line between bitter and sweet. Today it is part of the Campari group but its dark color, caramel sweet flavor and bitter finish have been alluring to admirers since 1868.
