This Saint-Julien beauty announces itself with a toasted, concentrated bouquet that means business. You'll find serious fruit density wrapped around a sturdy backbone—the kind of structure that whispers "patience, my friend." On the palate, bright acidity cuts through with flair before the tannins and herbal Cabernet character take center stage, finishing with a satisfying length. It's smooth now, sure, but those impressive bones suggest this wine is really just getting started. Cellar it for a few years and watch it evolve into something even more compelling.
Bramble fruit tones on the nose with some floral elements of peony, violet and rose. Smells rich and ripe and quite opulent. Smooth and agile, a lovely energy straight away with bright, almost high-toned fruit, the acidity giving the lift and sense of freshness. Lean and straight but so juicy so you get the relatively tight structure but with mouthwatering acidity and a touch of sweetness adding bounce and pep to the expression. It’s still quite compact in terms of real expansion but there’s a long length. Really suave, almost subtle and dialled back which is great and the juiciness is totally moreish. I love it. Easy, generous, appealing. 52.78hl/ha. 10% press wine. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 55% grand vin production.
Excellent depth and complexity with a nice modern touch of cocoa powder to the black olives, pencil shavings, cassis, violets, black mushrooms and dark earth. Full-bodied palate with fresh, vertical tannins and lots of juicy fruit that seamlessly dissolve into the flavorful, persistent finish. Refined power with real length.
