The Domaine de Vaufuget Reserve de Naufraget, overseen by Bernard Chereau whose family heritage dates back to the eleventh century, reflects a deep commitment to terroir and vineyard parcel distinction. Located upstream from Tours in the northern Loire Valley, the Vouvray vineyards thrive on clay-limestone and siliceous soils atop chalky Tuffeau. The vine roots extend into cellars carved from the rock, known as Troglodytes. Hand-harvested in October, the grapes include those affected by noble rot, which intensifies their sugar concentration. Slow fermentation lasts about a month. Crafted entirely from Chenin Blanc, this off-dry wine delivers a sweet impression balanced by a dry finish, revealing rich flavors of orange peel, honey, and ripe quince, culminating in a long, delicately honeyed finish. A truly exquisite experience.
