Only 4.8 hectares of Oakville Cabernet are reserved for Groth’s Reserve selection. This blend, consisting of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, was matured for 22 months in entirely new French oak barrels. Following this, it aged an additional 14 months in the bottle before release. The wine reveals rich, expressive notes of black cherry, leather, and tobacco. Full-bodied, it is supported by elegant, fine-grained tannins and evolves with refined aromas of dried violets, rose petals, and a subtle mineral character. The finish is long, smooth, and polished—equally captivating now or after further aging.

Just 4.8ha of Oakville Cabernet are designated for Groth's Reserve blocks. This blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot was aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. It spent another 14 months in bottle before being released—wonderfully rich and expressive black cherry, leather, and tobacco aromatics. Full-bodied and framed by supple, fine-grained tannins and building finesse in its dusty dried violets, rose petal florals, and dusty mineral backbone. A nice, long, pleasant finish rounds out this polished Reserve Cabernet. Certainly one for the cellar, but incredibly pleasing at the pull of the cork today.
Ripe and with a bit of flash thanks to its glossy toast, this red delivers a violet-accented core of cassis and plum reduction, with black licorice, sweet tobacco and singed alder notes. Solid and steady through the lengthy, polished finish, with a flash of flinty minerality lurking in the background. Drink now through 2040.

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.

The region’s Mediterranean climate, with warm days and cool nights, allows grapes to ripen slowly and develop deep complexity and balance. Napa Valley is home to hundreds of wineries, ranging from historic family-run estates to modern, luxury producers. In addition to exceptional wines, Napa is celebrated for its beautiful vineyard landscapes, fine dining, and premium wine tourism experiences.
