Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at Sea Bourbon is a distinctive Kentucky straight bourbon that undergoes a unique maturation process. After aging for 6–7 years on land, the bourbon barrels are loaded onto ships and set sail for 5–10 months, traversing various seas and climates. This maritime aging exposes the barrels to constant motion, temperature fluctuations, and salty sea air, which Jefferson’s claims accelerates and enhances the maturation process. The result is a bourbon with a rich, complex flavor profile that includes notes of crème brûlée, sweet tobacco, sea spray, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, sea salt, and a hint of espresso. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering notes of Cracker Jacks and sea salt.
