State Ranch lies northeast of Yountville and spans 23 acres divided by State Lane Road, featuring both mature and younger vines. The vineyard benefits from rocky loam soil with superb year-round drainage, contributing to the production of exceptional wines. Vines and grape clusters are moderate in size, thriving under full sun exposure daily. As the younger vines develop, multiple clones will be harvested to craft the final blend. Nickel & Nickel carefully selects grapes from 11 acres within this distinguished vineyard.
Bright aromas of black currants and lavender with intense pencil shavings and green tobacco leaves followed by roasted coffee beans and cedar. A full-bodied wine that is broad on the mid-palate with firm yet fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. Great depth and length here. Wonderful tension and density as well as harmony.
