This wine presents a deep violet hue. On the nose, it reveals scents of red berries and blackberries, accompanied by floral hints of violets and subtle spices. The oak influence is seamlessly woven in, adding gentle undertones of bitter chocolate. The palate is refined and lively, characterized by smooth tannins and an enduring, elegant finish.
Juicy, with a flow of concentrated boysenberry and mocha. Gentle tannins surround black raspberry and molasses with a touch of white pepper.
The 2021 Don Nicanor Malbec was produced with grapes from Valle de Uco and Lujรกn de Cuyo in similar proportion, fermented with selected yeasts and with 60% of the wine matured in oak barrels for 12 months. It has contained ripeness at 14.5% alcohol and is juicy and peachy, with black fruit (cassis, blackberry) and herbs. It is more serious, perhaps with a more reductive personality, with good concentration, tension and balance. Modern, very good value and a traditional name.
