Our co-founder, Edis Zurita, and master blender, Jorge Perez, met in La Habana in the 80s distilling rum for one of the world's most renowned rum brands. Jorge¡¯s had an illustrious rum-making career in Mexico, most recently as head of production for Casa Caibar?. This Mexican family-owned distillery has been harvesting cane and blending rums since 1948. Our close partnership allows us to create innovative products, sourcing ingredients from other family-owned, neighboring farms.
