The 2021 vintage reveals Quintessa's hallmark harmony of intricate fruit, meticulous structure, and lively freshness, enhanced by an exceptional growing season. Floral accents of violet and lilac elevate a richly aromatic mix of cassis and black cherry, complemented by hints of anise, bay laurel, and forest floor. On the palate, firm yet finely textured tannins support flavors of dark berries and savory herbs, intertwined with graphite and iron nuances. A generous mouthfeel guides the layered complexity to a refined, chalky finish. Blend: 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Carménère, 1% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot.

James SucklingSo much graphite and volcanic character on the nose with metal shavings and gunpowder. Black ink, iron and rust, too. Blackberry and blackcurrant undertones. Full-bodied but not overpowering, with chewy and juicy tannins that are long and very subtle. Superb finish. From biodynamic grapes with Demeter certification.
